EKU Charity Golf Outing
AGC Contact: Richard Vincent, June 16, 2008
The largest number of golfers ever attended our annual Richard A. Booker Scholarship Charity Golf Outing at Arlington Golf Course in Richmond last month. Nearly eighty members of AGC of Kentucky braved the less than ideal weather to participate in the annual spring event which has raised more than $50,000 since 2000 for the Eastern Kentucky University Construction Management program.

Winners of the 2008 EKU Charity Golf Classic, the team from Superfleet/Super America and Jack Kain Ford turning in an impressive 20 under-par.
Taking top honors in the tournament this year was the team from Superfleet/Super America/Jack Kain Ford turning in an impressive 20 under-par score for the challenging eighteen holes. Congratulations to Stan Rose (Superfleet), Bruce Whitaker (Speedway Super America), Eric Thomas (Jack Kain Ford), and Dale Stubblefield (Jack Kain Ford).
Second place finish went to Team Judy which included Morgan and Steve Judy (Judy Construction Company) along with Ben Hek (Hek Glass) and Scott Althauser (City of Richmond)
Third place finishers included the Alliance Corporation’s Team comprised of James Watkins, Derrick Akers, Matt Rich and Joel Pittard.
Honorable mention goes to Larry Cowgill of Congleton-Hacker who despite not having played golf in more than 30 years managed to win the top door prize of four tickets plus parking passes to the 92nd Indianapolis 500 which was generously provided by Superfleet.
A very special thanks goes out to all the corporate sponsors whose generous contributions and sponsorships made the EKU Charity Golf Outing and Richard Booker Scholarship a tremendous success again this year.
