AGC of Kentucky Summer Socials a big hit

AGC Contact: Richard Vincent, July 28, 2008

AGC of Kentucky kicked off the summer season with two membership events in the Lexington and Louisville areas recently. The membership outings were sponsored by AGC of Kentucky members Harrod Concrete & Stone and Associated Insurance Services. We’d like to thank both of them for their sponsorship and assistance in making our 2008 summer socials a tremendous success.

The Lexington membership event was held Tuesday evening June 24th at Harrod Concrete & Stone and saw nearly 100 members enjoying smoked ribs, grilled Hawaiian-style chicken and other delicious summertime fare provided by the outdoor grill mastery of AGC of Kentucky membership director John McKibben and AGC of Kentucky Board Member David Harrod. Musical entertainment was also provided along with a wonderful atmosphere for networking and good clean, family fun.

The Louisville event held on Thursday June 26th at the AGC of Kentucky office in Louisville was also very well attended despite the possibility of inclement weather. Towards the end of the event we moved the gathering inside due to expected rain, which fortunately held off until all the cooking and most of the eating was done. An impromptu cornhole tournament was then promptly “organized” inside the garage area of the AGC office until the threatening weather passed.

A very special thank you to AGC of Kentucky staff John McKibben in Lexington and Kathy Davis in Louisville for organizing a great member event for which was thoroughly enjoyed by everyone that turned out! With the tremendous success of this event, our first summer socials in years by all accounts, look for more great networking opportunities for AGC members in the future.
