More than 250 contractors, architects and project owners attended our 18th Annual Build Kentucky Awards Banquet in an effort to recognize the premier commercial construction projects completed in 2007 by AGC of Kentucky members from across the Commonwealth. Download the event program here (12 MB).
Bill Goodman host of the Emmy Award winning program Kentucky Tonight on KET served as the master of ceremonies. During the gala event Thomas Gumm, President and co-founder of Alliance Corporation of Glasgow was installed as 2008 President for AGC of Kentucky. Ellis Hefner of R.R. Dawson Bridge Company of Lexington was honored as the past President and recognized for his outstanding service to the association in 2007. This was our largest attendance for the Build Kentucky Awards ceremony and also resulted in the largest number of both BKA applicants and project awards.
The 18 winning projects ranged in value from $2 million to $60 million and included, among others the historic preservation of the Rowan County Arts Center in Morehead, renovation at the University of Kentucky Memorial Coliseum in Lexington, and expansion of the Kentucky Exposition Center in Louisville.
